Hi Alvin,

I was just going back and rereading all of your wonderful blogs. This one jumped out at me because at church we will soon be starting a series of classes on Lynn Twist's book, "The Soul of Money." I am really looking forward to it.

"..that which you appreciate, appreciates."
It is so easy to fall into being obsessed with looking back at all that we have lost over the last few years. But I am making a great effort to stay in the present and be grateful for what we DO have, a loving family, a roof over our heads, the food on the table, and knowing what is truly worthwhile and important in our lives.

I am a member of an Intenders group. We use our words, thoughts and Intendtions to support each other in creating the highest good in our lives. But before we state our Intentions, we FIRST state our Gratitudes - anything that we are grateful for: for being alive, for the beautiful day, for the car that got us to the meeting, for the loving support of family and friends,(for the inspirations of a Soul Acrobat), etc.

It is amazing how much we take for granted. But speaking your gratitude forces you to see what is before you and to focus on the good in your life. By simply focusing on, becoming aware of and appreciating even the smallest things, you have already expanded that good by seeing it and bringing it into your consciousness. "...that which you appreciate, appreciates."
